Simplification of workflows and absolute reliability regarding evaluation
Our company received a request for the development of a new statistics tool for the evaluation of the advertising turnovers of radio SAW as well as ROCKLAND radio, a radio station which is being marketed by SAR Sachsen-Anhalt. Formerly the statistical evaluations were generated and forwarded under capacious manual effort. These workflows were supposed to be automated as much as possible. After several meetings and discussions, DBC got the order to shape and to establish the new workflow system.
In order to grant the outside situated media sellers the opportunity access to certain evaluations, we chose to design the new programme on a web application basis. The database used is MySQL 5. As PHP framework the Yii-Framework seemed the most favourable, because it allows high-performance web applications within a very short time.
The XML-export of the regional turnovers is automatically imported out of the advertising dispo system Meridian once a week. The national turnpvers are delivered by RMS in excel-format via e-mail. The mail account is constantly monitored, the national turnovers being first being extracted from the excel-datafile and then being transferred directly into the new database. Following the weekly statistics is transferred into PDF-format and distributed via e-mail. Last but not least, each representative receives his turnover statistics in PDF-format by e-mail. All evaluations can also be viewed online at any time. Even old statistics can be run and displayed over and over again since the database saves all data once entered into the system.
A user administration ensures access only for authorized personnel. The viewing conditions for each single evaluation can be set up directly in the user administration surface.
